On a Saturday, master Segun invited everyone to his house to discuss about the results of the test they conducted. His kind mom offered them just baked doughtnuts with zobo as soon as they arrived and they enjoyed it with their eyes on the high school movie that was showing on a huge television screen. Fortunately, the person he sent to get the test results came in when they finished eating and PHCN interrupted power supply so there was no distraction. Before unveiling the results, Master Segun pleaded with each of them not to let a word of it go outside his home and promised to punish whoever does that. He also admonished them to let peace reign in their midst and forget about past incidents once they get know. They agreed reluctantly because they wanted him to finish his story on time and tell them what they really wanted from him. Many of them had no other intention than to torment Quinn about his test result till he gets frustrated and leave Nigeria for good. The results of the

"Good morning, sir. I'm so sorry for being late....i just", A panting Quinn entered the hall, causing an unignorable change in the atmosphere. "Are you okay? You think you can just walk in here anytime you want. Who the hell are you!" One of the examiners who hated his skin color and the fact that everyone seemed so fond of him was determined not to let him write the examination. "I sincerely apologize on my son's behalf. He just flew in this morning", Mr. Kunbi walked in. Quinn had told him not to bother coming in after dropping him at the school gate from the airport but he knew something like this was would happen. "It's okay, your excellency", The examiner was still pissed but all he could do was isolate Quinn whose intelligence had no issue with that. Lily was more surprised than everyone else about Quinn's sudden return that she thought he had made her turn crazy and start imagining things. She didn't know whether

The box of chicken nuggets, fried rice and orange juice Lily's sister got her from their hangout spot was something she had hoped to enjoy privately. This hope was shattered into pieces when they got home and found Khadijat waiting outside. It seemed like she had been waiting for a long time so it would have been unfair to eat without her and it didn't seem like she was going to leave anytime soon...lol. Why don't we always get what we want in life? "Thank you so much, bestie. I haven't tasted something that good since my brother's naming. You can remain for me if you can't finish it", Khadijat said when she finished her share of the takeaway. In response to her statement, Lily gave an unsincere blush. "So how did last night's kiss go?" Khadijat asked. "Nothing", Lily was happy to disappoint her hyper friend who she knew must have come all the way to know how a mere kiss was. "You should know better. I don't take any

"Lily, you're going out for your performance in sixty seconds. Are you ready", Mr. Segun said to Lily on cultural day. "Yesss, sir", Lily stuttered while she thought, " I don't know how big of my offence is that you can't find another way to punish me, wicked man". "It's time!" Mr. Segun watched Lily count her footsteps as she walked to the stage. "I'm so sure this is going to be the most embarrassing day of my life", Lily sighed when she got on stage and saw the huge crowd before her. In the subsequent years, students, teaching staff and even non-teaching staff of both Johnson College and Grace Model College kept talking about this particular cultural event because it was one of a kind. People had surplus cultural foods, like amala, banga soup with fofo, tuwo shinkafa to eat and fresh palm wine to quench their thirst. The most interesting part was that students were supervised to cook these meals, regardless o

Since he was in the mood for a friendly act again, Quinn offered to drive Mr. Allen home the day he was discharged at the hospital. When they got there, he got the usual stares from Nigerians due to his skin color and hair texture but he was already used to it so he wasn't really bothered. The only problem was that when he was supposed to spend time rehearsing his script with Lily, he had to answer numerous questions from them about his country of birth. It was so bad that Aunt Tolani had to come chase them away when it was time for dinner. On his behalf, she prepared the most expensive soup she had ever made. "Hey, ladies.", Miss Claire decided to join the other women who abandoned her in the living room to cook dinner in the kitchen few seconds earlier. "Hey, miss Claire. Is there anything you need", Martha who most especially fond of her replied first. "I'd like to help out", Miss Claire joined her in preparing vegetables for cooking even bef

Minister Adekunbi Omowale was the only child of his parents. He got the opportunity to move out of his village for a University education in the city when he was eighteen. Even at that, they paid him special attention knowing being an educated person had its own detriments. When he was getting too old and couldn't produce a wife talk less of children, his mom tricked him into coming home by pretending she was ill. Meanwhile, they had prepared the necessary things for his marriage to the most respectful girl in their village. The same person Quinn had been living with since his arrival in Lagos. Despite being civilized, Mr Kunbi really didn't care about whom he married at that time probably because he was too engrossed in his work. Their marriage seemed pretty cool to everyone as it produced two beautiful babies in less than a year even though patriarch Kunbi felt a single boy would have made more difference. Unlike her husband, Mrs. Kunbi bothered less about the gender of t
