The Externals Reloaded - Chapter Twentyfive

Minister Adekunbi Omowale was the only child of his parents. He got the opportunity to move out of his village for a University education in the city when he was eighteen. Even at that, they paid him special attention knowing being an educated person had its own detriments. When he was getting too old and couldn't produce a wife talk less of children, his mom tricked him into coming home by pretending she was ill. Meanwhile, they had prepared the necessary things for his marriage to the most respectful girl in their village. The same person Quinn had been living with since his arrival in Lagos. Despite being civilized, Mr Kunbi really didn't care about whom he married at that time probably because he was too engrossed in his work. Their marriage seemed pretty cool to everyone as it produced two beautiful babies in less than a year even though patriarch Kunbi felt a single boy would have made more difference. Unlike her husband, Mrs. Kunbi bothered less about the gender of t

Quinn was completely shocked by his dad's statement but remained calm and chose not to embarrass him in public. After he did that, every pressman in the building took interest in having an interview with him. The questions they asked him included how he felt to be back home and if he was going to pursue his advocacy to the detriment of his dad's political career. Of course, the other question didn't go down with Quinn who felt his dad did everything on purpose and confronted him about it. "Minister, now you want to play dirty?" Quinn had to follow him to the restroom in order to achieve his aim. "When is a father acknowledging his child ever a bad thing?" The minister replied him. "Stop pretending! Everything you did was for your own selfish political ambition and I'm going to make sure the entire country sees that", He said amidst gritted teeth and left him alone. "Tokunbo, you have to hear me out. What you're insinuating is

Learning about the identity of the minister of education made Quinn visit the hospital to see Lily. As much as hated his father, his mind was greatly troubled. Tension lines etched across his face as his haunted eyes struggled to keep open. Every step he took carried a subtle shuffle while he sometimes took pauses and continues walking when the tension increases. Sometimes, he tried getting away from thinking about his problems by gazing at the people hurrying to get home from the office or the street food vendors striving to get their fried potatoes or akara sold by all times. Still, the peace he received was short lived. When Quinn finally arrived, he didn't need to tell Lily before she realized something was going on, "What happened?" Quinn hesitated before saying, "The... minister of education is my..." "Your what?" Lily was eager to hear what he has to say. "Fa.ther", Quinn finally let the cat out of the bag. "Wow! That'

"No..that can't be true!" Dare peeped into the answer booklet before he could believe Quinn who mocked him further. "You're next", Quinn turned to Zach who was previously typing on his phone. "Okay, bring it on", Zach took a deep breath. "You need to pick a question, buddy", Quinn informed him. "One.." Zach made his choice nervously. "Taken", Quinn replied devilishly. "Five", Zach picked another number, thinking his troubles were over. "Gone", Quinn smirked. "Twenty-Eight!" Zach replied frustratingly. Quinn looked for the number in the book before him and read it out, "The equilibrium position of a firm is attained A.  when MC = AR B.  when MC = PC C.  when MC = MR D.  when AC = AR E.  when AR = MR Zach now wished he was calm when picking the number after Quinn finally read the question. "You only have ten seconds more", Quinn reminded Zach who refused to a

Happy new year people😁🥰 Scitist didn't punish Lily and Quinn for the position he met them. He only advised them to take things slowly which was another embarrasing moment for them considering the fact that they had nothing going on. Fortunately, what happened didn't stop him from commending their efforts which led to the improvement of their classmates' performance in Biology and Chemistry. Still, he implored them to put in more work since JAMB and WAEC are around the corner. As days went by and Quinn kept on creating new memories with Lily, he kept realizing how much she meant to him. Becoming closer to her alsumade him feel her pains more and influenced his decision to start a campaign with the hope of influencing the minister of education to implement programmes geared towards making the country's educational system better. Before that, he changed his mind about doing nothing concerning the feud between the main and external students, for her sake as well.
